Gullmarsplan has long been a major interchange, since it's the southern
junction point for all the lines on Tub1 (green lines of the subway)
as well as a major bus terminal serving suburban areas farther south. The
coming of Tvärbanan has further increased Gullmarsplan's importance as
a transit interchange.
Tvärbanan is being extended eastward from Gullmarsplan to Sickla udde,
where a new housing development called Hammarby sjöstad is in progress.
The extension is scheduled to open at the end of 2003.

This photo shows the extension being built eastward from Gullmarsplan. When
the picture was taken in the fall of 2001, the ballast had been laid, but no tracks
were in place. As this is written in early 2002, track has been laid and the poles
for the overhead wire are up.

A tram arriving at Gullmarsplan.

The same tram as it pulls into the platform.

A view of Tvärbanan's platform at Gullmarsplan. The direction in which we are
looking is the direction in which the line is being extended.
(9 September 2001)
Artwork on the platform. According to what I've read, the artist intended this man
to represent a typical yuppie.

This photo also shows the extension being built eastward from Gullmarsplan.

Another view of the platform at Gullmarsplan with a tram waiting for departure.

An A30 car (out of sight is the B30 coupled to it) at Gullmarsplan.

A view of the whole A30/B30 train, showing the line number (wrong; 12 is
Nockebybanan!) and destination (correct: Liljeholmen).
