Kärrtorp (Tub1, line 17)

Opened on 19 November 1958.

Kärrtorp station is decorated with colored panels on the platform and in the ticket hall.

(20 October 2002)
This view looks timetable south, toward the single ticket hall and toward Bagarmossen.

(20 October 2002)
This is an example of the artwork found on the platform at Kärrtorp.

Kärrtorp, looking south along track 2

(20 October 2002)
This is another view looking timetable south, this time along track 2.

Kärrtorp, platform

(20 October 2002)
And a simpler view of the platform at Kärrtorp, including the station name sign, and the area nearby (on the west side of the station).

Kärrtorp, exit from platform

(20 October 2002)
A view of the exit from the platform to the ticket hall, which is below.

The stairway down to the ticket hall, with a work of art mounted on the wall over the stairs.

Kärrtorp, looking south from ground level

(20 October 2002)
Here we are also looking timetable south, but this time from outside the station. The station entrance is directly behind us. Note the "railroad-style" signal of a type that became commonplace on Tub1 with the coming of the new signalling system in 1998-99.

Kärrtorp, station entrance

(20 October 2002)
And a view in the other direction, showing the station entrance. The elevator shaft sticks up above the rest of the station. Note also the "T" emblem above the elevator shaft.

Kärrtorp, looking north

(20 October 2002)
This view looks timetable north along track 2. The ticket hall is behind us.

Kärrtorp, southbound train approaching

(20 October 2002)
The same vantage point as in the previous photograph, with a southbound train entering the station.

Kärrtorp, southbound train departing

(20 October 2002)
The same train as it departs Kärrtorp.

Kärrtorp, northbound train arriving

(20 October 2002)
A northbound train arriving at Kärrtorp.

Kärrtorp, northbound train departing

(20 October 2002)
And the same train as it leaves Kärrtorp.

Kärrtorp, twilight, 1

(20 October 2002)
And now we come to the reason I wanted to take pictures of this station. I really like the way the station canopy looks in the darkness.

Kärrtorp, twilight, 2

(20 October 2002)
Another example.

Kärrtorp, twilight, 3

(20 October 2002)
And another. This station canopy looks good from slightly different angles, I think.

Kärrtorp, twilight, 4

(20 October 2002)
Another angle.

Kärrtorp, late twilight

(20 October 2002)
As it gets darker, the colors of the station canopy itself become more vivid.

Kärrtorp, darkness, 1

(20 October 2002)
Night has fallen.

Kärrtorp, darkness, 2

(20 October 2002)
Another night photo.

Another twilight picture, but this one also shows a southbound train arriving.

(20 October 2002)
A similar view, with the same train departing Kärrtorp.
